About Me
I was attending Harvest Music Festival in 2008 when I was first inspired to pick up a hoop. I was enjoying the music one sunny day at the festival when I saw a beautiful girl dancing with a hula hoop, tossing it, spinning it, swirling within it, and I was totally mesmerized! I completely stopped watching the concert and just watched her dance. At that moment I decided that I wanted to be able to do that too. I figured that it would only take some practice.
After that festival, I purchased my first hoop, and started practicing in my backyard. After a lot of practice, I started creating YouTube videos of my progress. My life changed forever when one of those video went viral and launched my hula hoop career.
My mission is to make the joy I experience when I hula hoop accessible to anyone. I hope to inspire others to try hooping, be it for health and wellness or purely as a hobby. I strive to do that by offering free hula hoop tutorials on my YouTube Channel and mentorship services for hooping and creative businesses.
I am truly grateful for all the blessings hooping has brought into my life including the places I've traveled and the people I've met along the way.

Katie's signature workshop is the Paint Hoop Jam, a messy, collaborative painting and movement experience that will make you feel like a kid again!
